Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Zealand is a registered not-for-profit which oversees a national volunteer mentoring network, providing one-to-one mentoring for kiwi kids facing societal challenges and barriers to achievement.
The network provides professional training and supervision for 900+ volunteer mentors and has helped thousands of kiwi kids to know they are valuable and have unending potential within.
We are a part of Big Brothers Big Sisters International (BBBSI) which has 100+ years of proven impact, operates in 13 countries around the world and mentors almost 300,000 young people globally each year.
In Aotearoa New Zealand we are funded by the generosity of community sponsors and donors, both private individuals and philanthropic trust and corporations.
They also support local communities wanting to know how they can help ignite youth potential in their region.
They volunteer their time and skills to ensure the programme meets national standards and regulations.
From the older the younger will learn, from the younger the older will learn.
Where the older has responsibilities to the younger, so does the younger to the older.
